Dear brothers and sisters at Faith, as you know by now, these articles of Prayer Matters usually address why, and how, prayer is so powerful, and so important in our Christian lives. This article also includes a specific prayer that is so much needed now in our nation.
We continue to see that the problems our nation faces are deep and humanly unsolvable. The answers to our challenges lay in two realms: state and church. This nation is sick unto death. But the church has the answer: Jesus Christ. We know the enemy is behind this sickness, and we also know, without a doubt, who is really in control of our lives. Our God will not let these terrible acts of evil be wasted. He never wastes a pain, and goodness has already begun to be seen in our nation. We pray that even more young people will join God's family, will know Christ, and will make Christ known.
Remember the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV). If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
We ask you to join us in the following prayer. Why? Because Prayer Matters!
- Faith Lutheran Church Healing Prayer Team
Father God, saying "thank you" for all the grace, mercy, and blessings You give us just doesn't seem to be strong enough words to express our gratitude. We praise You, we glorify You, and we honor You. God of life and love, You sent Your Son into our world of pain to love and teach us to love. Bring an end to all violence and lead us to honor and respect each other. Comfort those who mourn, those who are injured, and those whose lives are consumed with fear. Protect all our nation's citizens from violence, both civilians and law enforcement. Give all the leaders of our nation wisdom and courage. Comfort all the families who grieve the death of their loved ones. We ask for Your blessings on all the people whose lives have been torn apart by evil.
