May 2022 Music Update

    05.01.22 | Music | by Matthew Swingle

    Hello Faith Family –

2 Corinthians 9:11 & Psalm 106:1 – You will be enriched in every way, so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God, so… Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

What an amazing Easter Resurrection Day! The Easter services were FULL of joyful and spiritual praise! I am still riding the exhilarations of our Resurrection services. I hope you had a wonderful experience, and it inspired you to go forth and spread the Good News!

Now, looking forward to the future…

As you are hopefully aware of by now, Faith Lutheran Church has officially announced the Faith Lutheran Concert Series which will begin Fall 2022. We are currently in the final stages of planning out the remaining featured artists for the 2022-2023 season. The full list of events for the Concert Series will be announced by Summer 2022.

We planned out a few events this spring, including the Spirituals & Gospel Songs concert, and the upcoming Hymn Festival in May. These “pre-series” previews hopefully gave you a little taste of what the Faith Lutheran Concert Series will be like. After the huge successes of the Christmas Brass & Organ concert and the

Spirituals concert, I am really excited for what God has in store for our Music Ministry and Faith Lutheran Church.

The upcoming May concert will be a Hymn Festival which will feature Rudy Lucente (celebrity organist and designer of the FLC Chancel Organ), Director of Music of Traditional Music of New Hope Presbyterian Church Fort Myers Benjamin Ball and his wife Katie Ball, and myself. This will be an evening of hymn singing, solos, duets, and much more, featuring some of your favorite hymns and a few patriotic selections.

But I need your help for the upcoming May concert… I need to know your favorite hymns! I want to try to get in as many of your favorite hymns as possible. So, I have some little notecards in my office that you can come by and write down your favorite hymns! Or if you would prefer, you can email me your favorites ( ). You know that my favorite is “It is Well,” so that will assuredly be on the concert!

The Hymn Festival Concert is on Friday, May 20 at 6:30pm. Please let me know your favorites by May 6! I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

    Blessings,

    Matthew
