June 2025 General Update

06.01.25 | Articles, Lambs of Faith, Women of Faith

Vacation Bible School is almost here!

The theme is Epic Australian Adventure and we need your help.

Volunteers are always welcomed but if you are unable, consider helping fill the church with decor.

Any jungle themed stuffed animals (alligators, birds, kangaroos, reptiles) or decorative vases or posters. All items will be returned, they will just be used to decorate the sanctuary to set the scene!

Any questions? Reach out to Sammi Treglown 239-537-2957 or Karen Graham 239-434-9277.

Sunday School Wraps Up a Wonderful Year!

As this issue goes to print, we’ve just wrapped up another joyful year of Sunday School and Middle School/High School Bible Study at Faith Lutheran! We praise our Lord for the many wonderful moments shared together learning of His loving Son.

Our journey through the Old and New Testaments brought to life stories of Joshua, Deborah, Gideon, Ruth, Hannah, Samuel—and, of course, JESUS. And during these shared moments, we all grew a little closer in our relationship with Jesus, and our friendships.

Pastor Duncan made a quick and faithful transition from academic life to pastoral leadership, guiding our team with grace. In addition to thanking Pastor Duncan, please take a moment to thank our dedicated teachers. Their commitment (and patience!) laid the foundation for a successful year: Pam DiSarro, Michael O’Hara, Michele Peterson, Amanda Sherwood, Debbie McWaters, Evangeline Kilmer-Duncan, Krystle Atkins, Jessica Taylor, Jadyn Klepper—and me!

Next stop for Youth and children is Vacation Bible School – an Epic Australian Adventure, as volunteers or participants, joining in an Unforgettable Journey with Jesus!

Many of you reading this might be thinking, “That’s something I’d love to be a part of!” Keep that thought in mind as we kick off Rally Day in September 2025—you could be the blessing we’re praying for today!

In His Service, Andrea Peterson, Chairman, Board of Education

“Neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
    1 Corinthians 3:7

    From the Women Of Faith

The WOF held their last meeting before our summer hiatus on Tuesday,May 13th.  While we will not meet over the summer as a group we do have a couple of projects.

This new school year, 2025-2026,  we have chosen Manatee Elementary School to help with school supplies.  We will be receiving the new lists that are required for the students toward the end of June.  We will post the lists when our collection of supplies begins on July 1st through July 31st.  The collection site will be across from the Discipleship Room and supplies will be delivered during the first week of August. The staff at the school are very excited and happy to know we are willing to help their students.  It is a privilege to help these little students start off the school year with the supplies they need.  Thank you ahead of time!

Our “Cravin’ to Craft” and “Itchin’ to Stitch” groups will continue to meet through out the summer.  We welcome new members from the congregation for either group, but especially the Crafters.  If you are interested in making and donating crafts for us to sell at our Fall Bazaar we would be very appreciative.  We have a great storehouse of supplies you are welcome to use and we are happy to share!

Our next meeting will be Saturday, August 23rd at 9:00am.  This will be our Long Range Planning session.  We will meet in the Fellowship Hall for a potluck breakfast.  All ladies of Faith Lutheran Church are members of the Women of Faith and we welcome you to our meetings and functions.

We will keep our Faith Family in our prayers and we share God’s Love at home or away this summer.
