March 2026 General Update
03.01.26 | General | by Michael Schmidt
This communication with you from me is seriously overdue. My warmest greetings to you and your families amid the “season” in Naples.
First of all, our Lord has blessed Faith Lutheran Church with a congregation who faithfully contributes its Gifts of the Spirit in His service. As we progress toward 4 major projects this summer, we have been blessed by generous members who have contributed greatly toward the expense of these projects. Through these gifts we are able to proceed toward enhanced security for the facility and, especially for the Lambs Of Faith students. For the first time in 40 years, our Sanctuary interior will be refreshed along with the entire campus. Paint and hurricane secure doors and windows will make for enhanced appearance and security.
The Council, Boards, and Committees have been very active ensuring that Faith Lutheran is run efficiently to His glory. Now comes the “however”. We constantly have a need for individuals to serve on each of these groups. Many members serve on as many as three separate management teams. Please consider gifting a small amount of time to serve. A board of note would be the Board of Properties. This group of 3-4 individuals is responsible for the entire campus, not necessarily in physical labor, to contribute observations and ideas for implementation. We need you and would encourage the women of the congregation to serve here as well.
I request that each of you prayerfully consider becoming involved in our music ministry. The Chancel Choir works diligently to provide music for your meditation weekly. Matthew Swingle has done an exemplary job in selecting two part music for our very small choir. Our goals are first in numbers and secondly to graduate a broader harmony. Your talents would be a great addition No audition, just please join us. Many have inquired about our absence of a Bell Choir. A minimum of 8 participants is required and, at this time, we only have two individuals expressing interest. How amazing our music ministry would be with four-part harmony and bells.
I pray that this plea does not fall on blind eyes and deaf ears. We are blessed to NOT be a congregation without a Pastor and with declining membership. I pray to God that He continues to bless our congregation and your involvement to continue and enhance our mission.
Blessed to be in His service at your side,
Michael L Schmidt, President
Faith Lutheran Church
