Happy Birthday!

Did you know that 2026 is a year for people turning 65 years of age.   In fact, a record 4.18 million Americans will reach 65 by the middle of this year.   That means an average of 11,400 turning 65 each day.    This has its own name: The “Peak 65” phenomenon.

 I remember my dad’s 65^th birthday party in March 15,  2001 because we celebrated it the month before I moved to Naples (Jo and the kids came later when the school year finished).

When I turn 65, this March 8, 2026 , I thank God for the gifts of good health, peace, and joy in ministry.

It reminds me of a birthday prayer for yourself which I share with you:

Heavenly Father, on this special day that marks another year of life, I humbly come before you with a heart full of gratitude of hope and love and joy of ministry made possible with my family, the congregation, and this community.

I thank you God for the wisdom of Ephesians 2:10 “God planned for us to do good things and to live as He has always wanted us to live. That is why He sent Jesus Christ to make us what we are.”

Fill my days with the light of Your presence, O Lord, and comfort me with the assurance that You are with me every step of the way.  When the path seems unclear, may Your gentle hand lead me, and when I face obstacles, let Your unfailing love be my anchor.

In moments of doubt or fear, remind me of Your promises, which are steadfast and true. Strengthen my faith and help me to walk in the knowledge that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

In Jesus mighty name, amen!
