    LCMS Convention Business

    The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) has regular conventions every three years; at these conventions we vote on business and make decisions about our leadership and what we will do as a synod in the coming years. This year’s convention will be July 18–23, and it will be in Phoenix, AZ; the theme for the convention will be “Christ is Risen Indeed.” We will be sending to the convention two representatives from our voting district: Pastor Adam Koontz, from Oakmont, PA and Gray Moffett from Ocala, FL.

    In addition to the convention business, we will also participate as a congregation in the election for a new LCMS president and vice president. From the list of candidates, Faith Lutheran is currently intending to vote for Joel Biermann as synodical president and Peter Lange as synodical vice-president.

    If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this upcoming convention and election, don’t hesitate to talk to any of the pastors here at Faith and we would be happy to talk to you about this important event in our synod.

    One final thing—the LCMS convention, while not always necessarily the most exciting thing to talk about, is tremendously important—this is where, every three years, we as a Synod will make decisions about the future direction of the LCMS. So please keep lifting up in your prayers:

    • those who are candidates for positions, that they may be strengthened and guided by God in their callings;
    • those who will vote, that God may give them the wisdom to vote according to His plans;
    • and the whole LCMS, that we may continue to work together in unity and concord.

    Women of Faith – June 2026

    May has been a beautiful season of spring, and the Women of Faith hope all the wonderful mothers of Faith Lutheran Church had a blessed Mother’s Day!

    Women of Faith has selected Golden Gate Elementary as this year’s mission focus as we support students and families preparing for the upcoming fall school year. We will be approaching this ministry a little differently this year, so please stay tuned for additional information. Mary Ellen will share more details as July approaches.

    The Women of Faith committee will be taking our usual summer break during June and July, and there will be no monthly meetings during that time.

    We lovingly invite all women of Faith Lutheran Church to join us on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for our Annual Long-Range Planning Meeting and potluck breakfast. This special morning will be a wonderful time of fellowship with your sisters in Christ as we share ideas, enjoy time together, and look ahead to the exciting ministries and plans being prepared for the upcoming season.

    Whether you have attended before or are joining for the first time, all women of Faith Lutheran Church are welcome in Women of Faith.

    Our hope is to see Women of Faith continue to grow as we build meaningful relationships and serve together in Christ’s love. Along with our monthly meetings, there are many ways throughout the year to become involved and encourage one another.

    Please also mark your calendars for the LWML Fall Rally, which will be hosted here at Faith Lutheran Church on October 17, 2026. More details will be shared as the event approaches.

    If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

    In Christ’s love,
    Krystle Atkins, President, Women of Faith
