Easter 2026

    03.31.26 | The Shepherd's Voice | by Don Treglown

On April 5, 2026 we will be celebrating Easter Sunday and the life that conquered death…..

HISTORICALLY     The prelude to Easter morning is the passion of Good Friday.  For six hours, from nine o’clock in the morning until three o’clock in the afternoon, Jesus suffered on the cross.  Especially during the hours of darkness, from noon until the end, He endured mental anguish and physical pain to the fullest of human capacity.  The cross was the battleground where the power of God engaged the forces of evil.  It was a battle which would once and for all defeat the power of death over the people of God. It is the victory of God in Christ over sin and death and hell that was won on the cross, a historical occurrence that happened at a specific place, at a specific point of time in history.

CONTINUALLY   Faith is like a laser beam. When one focuses his or her eye of faith on that historical event, Christ crucified and risen, the reality of His light and life comes leaping from the past, releasing power that ranges through all the living present, offering victory to the beaten, forgiveness to the guilty, wholeness to the broken, and newness of life to all who believe.

Your life in Christ conquers continually all that which works death in you.  Christ in you conquers prejudice, pride, conceit, anger, hatred, selfishness, and hostility, just to name a few, and it does it continually through your journey of faith.

ETERNALLY   The Easter victory is ours.  Jesus is Risen!   Jesus is alive!  We can live triumphantly in this life and in the next. God in Christ has won the victory for us.  He has provided the way for us to come to Him, through Christ. God has won a continual victory for us here and now through the resurrection and living presence of Christ in us who believer by the power of the Holy Spirit.  He has won the victory which assures us of something more beyond this life!  A life in His presence where there will be no more death, nor tears, nor sorrow, nor crying, for all these former things that have burdened us are passed away.  THINE IS THE GLORY!

    Happy Easter!
