Change

03.01.23 | Articles, Music | by Matthew Swingle

    Hello Faith Family –

Deuteronomy 31:6 – "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Things have changed and will continue to change… In churches across the world, there are not as many people participating in church choirs. We have seen and celebrated those who have returned to the Lord to sing in the Church Triumphant. Some of us have probably noticed our voices have weakened a bit, or perhaps some of us have lost a portion of their vocal range. Things have changed, and change is inevitable, but this does not mean we should fear change or remove ourselves from the opportunities or the results of those changes.

We recognize that choral singing and congregational singing is still a beautiful expression. Dynamics are still breathtaking. Articulations and phrasing still paint vivid pictures of the text. Good breath support still creates notes that are on pitch and assists to carry the phrases with great depth of sound. Choir members are still dedicated to working hard each week to bless the Lord and His people.

The fact which will never change is that the choir is still one of the most beautiful and engaging ministries in the local church. It provides a powerful expression of praise and worship which is so important to the lifeblood of a church.

So, I ask you, make sure our choir is affirmed and appreciated regularly. Their hard work and commitment are certainly blessings to our services. Pray for our choir members regularly. Let them know how much you are inspired by their ministry.

We loudly thank all those church choir members and their leaders! May God continue to use them in a world which desperately needs to hear His message. Also, you will see a tremendous change with our choir this upcoming Palm Sunday and Easter season, so keep your eyes open for what is to come!

    Blessings,

    Matthew
